You have to come down from the top to get to this spot; you cannot climb up alongside the falls. People die trying to do that every year. They had three rescues and a death this year....so far. The park rangers and DEC don't promote this location nor show it on their maps. It can be pretty dangerous for careless or reckless individuals, though it is quite safe if you're careful, and definitely safer than climbing up from below. Hi Ruth Ann. How do you get to this spot? My husband and I wondered that when we were asked if we went up to the top.
