"I just wanted to share that my father-in-law absolutely LOVES your painting. He loves the frame and said that he's never owned a real oil painting. 😊 But most importantly, he loves the subject matter and he and my husband spent a lot of time reminiscing this morning about hikes they took there years ago. This part of the Hudson is, by far, their favorite! Thank you SO much for making this Christmas gift PERFECT."

I rented it from Netflix and absolutely loved it. It is an enactment of the lives of Monet, Renoir, Manet, Cezanne, Degas, and other Impressionist painters living at that time around Paris. Fascinating and eye-opening!

New Paintings at Who’s Cooking

I’ve recently hung an exhibit of some of my waterfall paintings at Who’s Cooking, 14 Front Street, NY. Waterfalls are one of my passions as a painter. In fact, I’ve done so many waterfall paintings that I had to leave over half of them home! Most (if not all) of these were painted on location, and feature waterfalls within striking distance of the Hudson Valley. Hanging the show made me eager for spring to arrive, when waterfalls are at their peak from spring rains and melting snow.

I’ll have paintings at Who’s Cooking until the spring, and will switch them out every month or so to provide new shows for customers and visitors. The waterfall paintings will be there for a few more weeks. If you keep coming back from time to time, you’ll not only get to see new art exhibits, but you’ll experience the culinary wonders of the chefs at Who’s Cooking! It’s a fabulous lunch and take-out-dinner place, right near the Croton Falls Train Station. After hanging the show, I brought home grilled salmon and asparagus. It was delicious. They also make the best homemade chicken pies I’ve ever tasted. I’m looking forward to sampling more from their menu. They are located at:

Yesterday, I hung a solo exhibit at Who’s Cooking in Croton Falls, NY. Sixteen of my smaller paintings are there through the holidays. The image above shows many of my landscape paintings that are in the show. I’ve selected these because small paintings make such ideal holiday gifts. Everybody has a spot to hang a little gem! I’ll have paintings there until Spring, and will switch them out every month or so to provide new shows for customers and visitors. You can see the shows, and simultaneously pick up something for lunch or dinner.

My popular little oil-painted bird portraits, in the gold/cherry, oval frames, are among the paintings in the show. My new camera has given me a much-needed advantage in getting reference images of these precious creatures!

Sepia-toned tree drawings are also represented in the exhibit:

I’m sorry for the glare in the photo, but getting images through the glass on the drawings is challenging at best! If you’d like to be able to see each one better, you can check the link in the last paragraph below for the individual drawings on my website.

I plan to have some themed shows running after the holidays, such as sunrises and sunsets, and one of waterfalls in the Hudson Valley and Catskills. If you keep coming back from time to time, you’ll not only get to see new art shows, but you’ll experience the culinary wonders of the chefs at Who’s Cooking! It’s a fabulous lunch and take-out-dinner place, right near the Croton Falls Train Station. After hanging the show yesterday, I brought home baked cod with dill sauce for my dinner, steak for my husband, and a side dish of broccoli rabe. It was delicious. They also make the best homemade chicken pies I’ve ever tasted. I’m looking forward to sampling more from their menu. They are located at:
